EC believes that music has a positive impact on the individuals and on society as a whole, and as such, it is a way of improving the lives of the salvadoran people. Therefore, since the beginning of 2017, EC supported the creation of an adult choir in San Salvador, with the help of the non-profit International Philosophy school of El Salvador “New Acropolis”. The classes are given by a choral director and take place weekly New Acropolis’ premises.

The choir has been able to participate in approximately 5 recitals per year, which requires a great deal of preparation, rehearsal and logistics.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, choral activities were also affected, however, thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of its members, the Polyphonic Choir has continued to rehearse and give recitals in a virtual format.

EC is pleased to have been able to support this project since its beginnings and continues to do so in 2021.

Christmas concert at Benjamin Bloom National Children’s Hospital

To finish the year with high spirits, EC was able to organize a short concert at Benjamin Bloom National Children’s Hospital, in El Salvador, on Saturday December 16th 2017 for the children fighting against cancer. EC brought together the voices of members of three different choirs to show their solidarity with the children and parents undergoing such difficult times. At said event participated: the children’s choir of El Salvador "Fundación Coral (Fucoral)”, the adult’s polyphonic choir of New Acropolis and the teachers' choir of the German School, San Salvador.

The children and their parents enjoyed an afternoon listening to Christmas carols, received educational toys and refreshment.

The experience was aimed to not only bring a little joy to the oncology patients, their parents and the staff of Hospital Bloom but to encourage all those who participated to engage on further social activities.
